The Forums are web pages that receive realtime, dynamic updates, or "Posts". In the forums, you can post a message and have others reply to that message; creating what is called a "Thread". You can also search through forum posts and threads on the QuitNet as far back as 1998. Chat rooms are more widely considered to be "realtime" since conversations happen as users type them. This allows the pace of conversations to move much faster and topics tend to change very quickly. As opposed to the forums, you are not able to search previous conversations in chat rooms and discussions are not organized in any manner.
